hey schatzi hey baby hey sweetie hey dandelion hey boo
you put me on that pedestal
hey schatzi hey baby hey sweetie hey dandelion hey boo
this life i can’t do
sure you’ve got it mapped out
your children your house
a steady job your spouse
it’s fine you’ve got such lovely thoughts
and you dreamt all about how your story plays out
no it’s not that i’ve found another than you
it’s just i don’t love like you
hey darlin hey dear hey sweetness it’s clear i want you
but this life i can’t do
hey darlin hey dear hey sweetness it’s clear i love you
but you put me on that pedestal

you took and you took and you took
til i had nothing left to give
to you or anyone
i’m left as a shell as a mess
as a hollow little heap
you could clean up but you won’t
you thought you thought it fine
you thought oh this feels good
you thought you’d get more time with me (x2)
i think it’s time to plan an escape
i think i could slip out
quiet and unseen
with nothing left there’s nothing to take
oh i’m worthless to you
your exploits won’t get you cake
i’m done
oh i’m done (x2)
i tried and i tried and i tried
until my hands were tough as leather hide
reserves run dry
i’m showing without any rest
i’ve got the face to prove it
oh my lord when will it stop
you thought you thought it fine
you thought oh this feels good
you thought you’d get more time with me (x5)

the wrong thing
03:01
|

you can be a friend of mine
i’ll eat you up i’ll waste your time
you can be a love of mine
i’ll tell you lies you’ll drink my wine
isn’t it fitting
to feel this fine
such pretty things
my dark mouth sighs
i’ll do things to you
i shouldn’t do
and if they caught me i’d be through
i’ll let you hear these fears of mine
not through my words but through my eyes
you hear them crying
out for you
it’s all pent up
it’s wrong what i do
you can be a friend of mine
i’ll lift you up i’ll be your spine
you can be my holy ghost
i’ll pray to you i’ll love you most
isn’t it fitting
them crying for you
it’s all pent up
it’s wrong what i do
it’s wrong what i do (x2)

you were walking fast ahead
i find it odd and i find it sad
how such a tiny little thing
can get you started and leave you mad
i thought hey
it’s such a funny little thing
that you just left it up to fate
yeah you just left it up to fate
and i just can’t take the weight...
it’s such a funny little thing
and i know i know why
i can’t leave this fast behind
cause i can’t remember if we tried
i can’t recall if we gave it time
and hey
i really can’t forget the weight
of all those hundred little things
of all those tiny little things
and i just can’t take the weight...
ooooo...

well respected man
03:43
|

he gets up in the morning
and he goes to work at nine
then comes back home at five-thirty
it’s the same train every time
his world is built on punctuality
it never seems to fail
he’s oh so good
and he’s oh so fine
and he’s oh so healthy
in his body and his mind
and he likes his own backyard
and he likes his fags the best
cause he’s better than the rest
and his arm sweat smells the best
and he hopes to grab his father’s loot
when peter passes on
and he’s oh so good
and he’s oh so fine
and he’s oh so healthy
in his body and his mind
and he plays the stocks and shares
and he goes to get regatta
he adores the girl nextdoor
cause he’s dying to get at her
and his mother knows the best
about matrimonial stakes
and he’s oh so good
and he’s oh so fine
and he’s oh so healthy
in his body and his mind (x2)

please don’t tell me
that you’re growing old
cause that means you’re moving on
not ready for you to be gone
please don’t tell me
that i’m still so young
it’s not like i’m an eight year old
runnin around with my knees scratched up
and my hair to the ground
i saw you
i saw you that night
you got back from your visit
eyes wellin up sayin
it’s alright
i said mother mother mother
why won’t you cry with me
why do you have to be
the bravest one
being brave for me

won't you wait
02:43
|
|||
i grew a foot since i saw you last
and hey i wanted you to wait
cause i knew i knew i would change
but too little too late
too little too late
won’t you wait
just through the day
and your interest did fade
you’re on your way
won’t you wait
i know it’s getting so late
your mind it changed
you’re on your way
my words stacked up high on your openness
and hey you were so brave
cause you took on my sharp tongue
and all it had to say
it wasn’t my place
won’t you wait
just through the day
and your interest did fade
you’re on your way
won’t you wait
i know it’s getting so late
your mind it changed
you’re on your way

waking life

you were a black dog in my dream
you were scared you were scared
you were twisted and unclean
you were bare you were bare
and you sunk your teeth in me
how you dared oh you dared
and i took you over to safety
cause i cared…
ooooo…
together we moved naturally
and in waking life you spoke to me
about how about all the things
you wanted to be
not with me
you were a shadow in my sleep
you were there you were there
it’s a side of you unseen
how unfair how unfair
with the warning signs on fire
i didn’t care i didn’t care
cause i knew that i would leave you
unimpaired…
ooooo…
together we move naturally
and in waking life you spoke to me
about how about all the things
you wanted to be
not with me
ooooo…

into the moonlight into the sea
i can’t wait to see what you mean to me
into my brightness into my light
darlin you grow with the night
i’ll wait just wait and you’ll grow
i’ll wait just wait and i’ll grow too
ooooo…
into the moonlight into the sea
i can’t wait to see what you mean to me
into my brightness into my light
but darlin you grow with the night
i’ll wait just wait and you’ll grow
i’ll wait just wait and i’ll grow too
ooooo…

bye goodbye and your smile was wide wide white in the center without edges and you said words in glass motion that sent me wandering through the streets in midday and i was supposed to be high high hiding and i knew i was supposed to be hiding but it wasn’t what i wanted so i stared at your smile instead until it became blotchy and you weren’t put together anyway and all of my selves followed you around around and our heads didn’t make much noise and we were bashful and people thought we were combs spun down to really just half the moon.
